Magdalena Wojtas

Magdalena Wojtas is a graduate of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław and the Wrocław Medical University. She studied conducting under Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny and voice under Danuta Paziuk-Zipser, completing her master’s degree studies at both the Music Education Department and the Vocal Department of the academy. While still a student, she won 1st prize and the award for the best choir conducting methods at the 14th Polish Choir Conducting Competition in Poznań (2012). She was Finalist of 7th International Choir Conducting Competition Towards Polyphony (2016), which was her next individual prize. She has won a number of prizes and honourable mentions with the Choir of High School No. 17 in Wrocław. Since January 2015 she has been artistic director of Medici Cantantes, the Choir of Wroclaw Medical University.Since 2015 she has been a research-and-teaching assistant at the Music Education, Choral Art and Church Music Department of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. She cooperates with the Choir Feichtinum and the Stanisław Krukowski Choir, as well as the National Forum of Music Choir, the Polish National Youth Choir and the Wrocław Contemporary Theatre.
